PCCA Institute @ PCCA (pharmacy e*learning) was founded to expand PCCA's
mission of strengthening the skills of compounding pharmacists to meet
the unique healthcare needs of patients, using state-of-the-art education
technology. Partnering with colleges of pharmacy and other accredited
education providers, PCCA Institute is using the Internet to provide an array
of basic pharmaceutical science courses which can be accessed by a pharmacy
student at any venue on a 24 hours, 7 days a week schedule.
"PCCA's compounding
training classes are designed to provide students with a better understanding
of prescription compounding and its positive impact on pharmaceutical
care," said Bill Letendre, MS Pharm, MBA, Director of the PCCA Institute. "Although some compounding is included in pharmacy school
curriculum, we are offering options to schools to help meet the students'
increasing interest in compounding. It is a skill that will enable them
to differentiate themselves from other pharmacists, and will provide both
financial and professional rewards in their future careers."
The role of e*learning
is to deliver the fundamental aspects of pharmaceutical compounding in
a convenient and practical approach. The PCCA Institute is a provider
of continuing pharmaceutical education through Quest Educational Services,
as approved by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
Many of the Institute's courses offer continuing education (CE) credit.
